BOB BRADLEY, YOU'RE FIRED!!!

The US Men's soccer team has had some good moments under Bob Bradley. They got passed the group stage at the World Cup last year, they beat Spain a year prior, and they got to the Gold Cup Final this year even though we seemingly get there every time. However, Bob Bradley has seemingly not done enough for the US Men's team as their head coach and has been fired. This news comes on the eve of rematch with Mexico in a exhibition setting in August and the Olympics being just around the corner along with the 2014 World Cup qualification cycle which also begins next year.

A new coach will seeming lead Team USA through all these tests and presumably through the 2014 World Cup at the very least. What can be expected of the next head coach? Simply this: do better than Bob Bradley did overall. That especially means getting farther than the Round of 16 at the World Cup. While Bradley's World Cup effort was an improvement over the previous 2006 World Cup, it still wasn't enough to remember.

While I guess the change of leaders might help the team, the real difference has to be in player development and talent. I might have struck this cord before but it's still a solid note. Until youth development significantly improves, the Men's team won't get far over the long run. Now there is hope in some of the young guns on the team but I can't see them as the big difference makers yet.

Sadly enough, focusing on youth development might not be enough what with kids in America aspiring to play other sports like American Football and Baseball. But quite frankly, its the better card to play overall.

P.S. I neither support this firing or hate it, I'm just giving an alternate opinion about what needs to be done to improve the sport in the USA.
