The Rangers are on fire but this game might've cooled them for a while. They did lose to the Tigers yesterday, 5-4, but it was a particular event that might set them off track. Josh Hamilton had to leave the game in just the first inning after sliding into home plate and breaking his arm. He tried to tag up and go home on a pop up in foul territory and dived head first as he tried to avoid the tag of Victor Martinez. He was out anyway and now has a non-displaced fracture on his right arm and is out for 6-8 weeks. Hamilton would later admit it was a stupid move to go home on that play.
Perhaps a bit too aggresive as he now has to sit on the sidelines for several weeks and watch his team deal with his loss. The Rangers have started the year right with a 9-2 record but now have to try and maintain that momentum without their MVP. Though Hamilton has no home runs, he was batting .333 and had 7 RBI's. While he will be missed, one has to start to wonder how injury prone is Hamilton? Hamilton has had 6 injuries in the previous two seasons. Though none of them sidelined him for an entire season, injuries seem to be haunting Hamilton's career and he should be more careful in the future.
