More NBA action as three games were scheduled. First was the Heat vs. the Sixers in game 5 of their series. The Sixers have delayed the inevitable before and were looking to do so again. However, they would not be that fortunate. The Heat won, 97-91, and advance to the next round with a 4-1 series victory. Dwayne Wade was the top player for the Heat with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists. LeBron James has now finally finished his breakfast and apparently lunch is on the way.
The next game had the Spurs trying to avoid an early exit by taking on the Grizzlies in Game 5. The Grizzlies were up 3-1 in the series and were looking to put the Spurs away in San Antonio. It seemed that all was over for the Spurs being down by 3 with 1.7 seconds to go. Gary Neal wasn't quitting, however, as he managed to receive an inbound pass and make a game tying 3 to send it into OT. The Spurs would take over the game then and win it, 110-103. A rookie keeps the Spurs alive now behind 3-2 in the series.
The last game had the Thunder vs. the Nuggets. The Nuggets too were fighting for life being down 3-1 in the series. It was a tight game throughout but in the end the Thunder came out on top. Kevin Durant scored a clutch 2 pointer with 12 seconds left which help give the Thunder the win, 100-97. Durant had 41 points and 5 rebounds in the victory. The Thunder win their first series ever being part of Oklahoma City. A little fitting that they did it at home.
Two more series' come to an end while the Spurs are holding on. Next game in that series is Friday.
