MLS has returned and the nonexistent coverage along with it. This is the first weekend of games so far and they seem alright to say the least. The one notable thing that stands out is the fact that Real Salt Lake beat the Galaxy and crushed their title celebration, 3-1. RSL is still a force to be reckoned this season. Also, the league's newest team (19th member), the Montreal Impact, made their debut yesterday as they lost to the Vancouver Whitecaps, 2-0.
So, real quick, who's going to hoist the MLS Cup this season? I have my doubts that the Galaxy will repeat so I'm not picking them. The Red Bulls seem too obvious and I think Thierry Henry is overrated. I would love to pick Real Salt Lake but I have to go with the Seattle Sounders. I'm no expert when it comes to soccer and I can't keep up with MLS all the time so this is more of a hunch kind of guess. Seattle was in second place last year in the Western Conference but got eliminated Real Salt Lake. Let's hope they do better this season. How could you not with that loud fan base behind them.
