The Sweet 16 was not so sweet for me. Another one of my Final Four Picks have been eliminated. Marquette unfortunately got beat by Florida, 68-58. That's now two of my Final Four Picks eliminated. As for the rest of that day, the first #1 seed was swept away. Michigan State doesn't advance any further as Louisville beats them, 57-44. Embarrassing low for the Spartans as now Louisville will take on Florida in the next round. Another #1 seed was almost eliminated on the same day. #4 Wisconsin played Syracuse to the limit but the Orange survive a last attack, 64-63. They will now face Ohio State who just Cincy, 81-66.
As for yesterday's action, Kendall Marshall did not play for #1 seed UNC. As a result, the Tar Heels had to stave off Ohio. The game was tied at the end of regulation and it seemed like it was going to stay close in OT. The Tar Heels then finally got separation that lasted and won the game, 73-65. UNC's next opponent also had to hold on to a close game as #2 seed Kansas just beat NC State, 60-57. As for the match ups in the South bracket, no contest really. #1 seed Kentucky beat #4 Indiana in a high scoring affair, 102-90, and #3 Baylor managed to beat #10 Xavier, 75-70. Kentucky and Baylor will play against each other next.
We not move on to the Elite 8. Can't wait for this embarrassment to come to an end.
