The season ended with some excitement at the end as the Giants beat the Padres in order to get into the playoffs. The Braves also got in as the Wild Card team thanks to this win and their win over the Phillies. The Rays would clinch the AL East by beating the Royals and also by the Red Sox beating the Yankees. The Yankees now are the Wild Card team of the AL. This season proved to be a long one as the year of the pitcher. 5 No Hitters in the year and two of them were Perfect Games. Perhaps the most memorable moment of the season, however, came with the Imperfect Game thrown by Armando Galarraga and ruined by Jim Joyce. Good controversial times.
Now we looked ahead to the postseason and who will win the World Series. In the AL, the Yankees will face the Twins and the Rangers will take on the Rays. The NL has the Giants facing the Braves and the Phillies going against the Reds. My prediction? Same back in April: the Phillies will win the World Series. They have 3 great starters and a batting order that is to be feared. The Yankees will be a close second and will likely force a 7 game series against the Phillies. Feels good to be in October.
P.S. Yes I would've love for the Red Sox to be in the Playoffs but at least the Giants are in. Better luck next year, Sox.
P.P.S. WE WANT INSTANT REPLAY!!!
