Lincecum Fans 14 in Win and Yankees and Rangers Up 2 Games

Tim Lincecum made his first postseason start and didn't do much worse than Roy Halladay did. Timmy pitched the shutout with 14 K's, 2 hits allowed, and one walk. As for the Giants offense, Cody Ross hit in Buster Posey in the 4th after Posey got into scoring position by stealing second and getting a favorable and erroneous 'Safe' call by the umpire. I think we gained a Instant Replay advocate with the Atlanta Braves. That one run would be it as the Giants beat the Braves, 1-0, and lead the series, 1-0.

Meanwhile the Yankees and the Rangers continued their luck despite being the away teams. The Yankees beat the Twins, 5-2, and the Rangers beat the Rays, 6-0. Both the Yankees and the Rangers have a 2-0 series lead against their respective opponents. Not a good spot for the Rays or the Twins as they need wins to stay alive. The Divisional Round continues tomorrow with Game 2 of the Giants vs. the Braves and the Phillies vs. the Reds.
