Though technically a home game for the 49ers, it was really a neutral environment for them and the Broncos as they played the annual NFL Game in London. As for the 49ers, they had to take on Denver without their starting QB, Alex Smith. Instead of going to David Carr, they went with Troy Smith at QB. The game started off slow as it was 3-0 with the 49ers leading at half time. The Broncos grabbed a 10-3 lead later on with a Tim Tebow TD run and a Matt Prater Field Goal. The 49ers would not lose hope, though, as Troy Smith would score a TD on the ground and then threw a TD later to Michael Crabtree. Frank Gore would score a rushing TD next to help seal the victory for the 49ers, 24-16.
Slow start for both sides but Troy Smith really came out and had a good second half in order for the 49ers to win. Perhaps with another good week behind center, Troy Smith will remain the starting QB. However, Alex Smith may be healthy enough to play after next weeks bye. DAMN IT!!!
