Postseason baseball got more exciting today with Game 4 of the NLCS. The Phillies needed a win to even the series at 2-2 while the Giants were looking to extend their edge. While pitching has dominated the playoffs, it would not dominate this game as both Joe Blanton and Madison Bumgarner were pulled in the 5th. This game would go back and forth in the later innings until it was tied at 5 in the bottom of the 9th. Aubrey Huff got on first with a single and then Buster Posey hit a single to move Huff to third. Juan Uribe then came to the plate and hit a deep fly ball to get Huff home and score the winning run. Giants win 6-5 and take a 3-1 series lead. Phillies now face the same the situation that the Yankees have.
Speaking of the Yankees, they played Game 5 of the ALCS earlier that day hoping to stay alive in October. CC Sabathia allowed 11 hits in his 6 innings but only 2 runs were scored on his watch. Meanwhile, the Yankees' bats got them the lead and they didn't look back as they won, 7-2. They force a Game 6 in Arlington set for Friday.
Giants look to seal the deal tonight with Lincecum going against Halladay again. Will these two be at their best tonight?
