A Rookie on the Mound? What a Treat!!!

The World Series continued on Halloween and it was a Trick for Texas and a Treat for San Francisco. The Giants put Madison Bumgarner, a rookie, on the mound to face the powerful Rangers' lineup. He Tricked them all night long as he pitched 8 innings allowing only 3 hits and no runs. Freddy Sanchez would be a boost defensively and Aubrey Huff would hit a 2 run Home Run in the 3rd. Two more runs would later score to give the Giants a 4-0 win over the Rangers. The Giants are now treated to a 3-1 lead in the series. Only one more is needed to be called champions.

A bit of worry for the Giants sending a second lefty to the mound after what the Rangers did to Jonathan Sanchez. But Bumgarner was cool and didn't succumb to the pressure all night long. Good for him. As for the Rangers, it's the second time they've been shutout in the series and the 2nd time they've been shut out at home all year long. Tomorrow's Game 5 kicks off the month of November with Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee facing off for the second time. Will this round be a pitchers duel or another hitters showcase?
