I was really worried about this game, to tell you all the truth. The 49ers play the Ravens Thursday night in Baltimore featuring Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh. I thought the team would glance over the Cardinals and lose to them as they prepared for the Ravens. Thank goodness the Cardinals really suck. We weren't that great either... at least in the first half. 6 FG's attempts by the 49ers and only 3 of them were made. Two were blocked which says special teams need a bit of work. The defense were able to pick us up again forcing 5 turnovers. The 49ers finally got it going in the 2nd half with 2 TD passes from Alex Smith in the third quarter. When the Cardinals finally struck, it was too late. 49ers win, 23-7.
Some offensive miscues by the offense early but they were able to overcome them. Smith did well overall with 267 passing yards, 2 TD passes, and 1 INT. Need better WR communication early, though. More balanced offense this week with more focus on the run. Sort of feel sorry for the 3-7 Cardinals as their season has not gone the way they hoped at all. As for the 49ers, they are now 9-1 with an 8 game winning streak. It would be impressive to see that streak hit 9 games, especially with the Ravens on Thanksgiving.
