Ravens Win the Harbaugh Bowl

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Hope you are not out in the cold waiting for a dreaded Black Friday sale going on. If you are, when the store clerks open the door, I beg of you to not stomp over them like Ndamukong Suh did that Packer.

Anyway, I had a fine Thanksgiving. Great food, family around, and, of course, some Pumpkin Pie. What made it only fine was the fact the Ravens beat the 49ers on this day, 16-6. I must say that is was a close game throughout and until late in the 4th, the 49ers were never more than one good drive away from at least tying the game.

The problem for us and the glory for the Ravens were the line battles. The Ravens defensive line just pummeled the 49ers offensive line all night long and Alex Smith looked like a punching bag for the Ravens front 7. 9 total sacks for the Ravens. Meanwhile, the our defensive line couldn't get any pressure on Joe Flacco. No sacks for the 49ers. During that TD drive that went into the 4th quarter from the Ravens, Flacco could've had all day to throw a pass. Also, the defense failed to adjust sending more guys. Just the front 4 rushing seemingly the whole night.

Still, the 49ers defense all together didn't do too badly. It was just a lack of offense or offensive line that was our down fall. Granted the Ravens are a very good defensive team but the 49ers failed to adjust the blocking scheme or even the play calling accordingly.

So, in the end, John Harbaugh beats his brother and the 49ers in the first ever match up of Brother vs. Brother of head coaches in the NFL. I'm sure the parents are just happy to see both teams doing well respectively for this time of year. The Ravens are 8-3 and look good while the 49ers, though losing, still have a commanding lead of the NFC West at 9-2. And I will admit it, the Ravens needed this win more than the 49ers did but the 49ers don't need to start losing their rhythm this late in the season. Better not succumb to the Rams on December 4th. Get working on that O-Line, Jimmy.
