4th Down Haunts Falcons, Texans Win but Really Lose, Pats Sweep the Jets and More

Week 10 in the NFL was exciting with one game especially having some spice at the end thanks to a questionable decision. The Saints went into Atlanta to face the Falcons and were winning the game by 10 points in the 4th quarter. The Falcons, however, managed to tie it thanks to a TD pass to Tony Gonzalez and then a FG by Matt Bryant as time expired. It was 23 all headed into OT. The Falcons had the ball first and after failing to pick up a first down, the Falcons decided to go for it on 4th down and short on their own 29 yard line. Michael Turner was stuffed and the turnover on downs in favorable field conditions set up the Saints for a game winning FG by John Kasay just 26 yards away. Saints win it, 26-23. A bold call by Falcons head coach, Mike Smith, costs the team greatly.

A big story now going around the NFL stems from the Texans-Buccaneers game. The good news is that the Texans won the game, 37-9, winning their 4th straight and maintaining their AFC South lead. The bad news is that their QB, Matt Schaub, has a fractured foot and is out for the rest of the season. Schaub was injured on a sneak play in the second quarter and only threw 3 more passes. While the Texans are in prime position to get a playoff spot for the first time ever, they will have to do it without Schaub.

As for the rest of the NFL, the Patriots managed to grab first in the AFC East with their win over the Jets, 37-16, and the Bills losing to the Cowboys, 44-7. 329 passing yards and 3 TD passes for Brady with no INTs. That is key for that offense. The Dolphins must really not want Andrew Luck as they win their second game of the year by beating the Redskins, 20-9. I don't get why they don't want Luck. Eagles blow another game late at home losing to the Cardinals of all people, 21-17. Eagles lose to John Skelton (who?) not Kevin Kolb and are now 3-6. No room for error now. Last one I'll mention is the Ravens, who beat the Steelers the week before, lose to the Seahawks, 22-17. Where is the consistency for the Ravens and the run for that matter?

Good Week 10 in the NFL with the NFC North games strangely both being blown outs. Thought those would be closer. Packers are still undefeated at 9-0 after last night's win over the Vikings, 45-7.
