Jack Del Rio Fired and Jags Being Sold

I guess the playoffs or bust ultimatum was real. Jack Del Rio was fired earlier today as the Jaguars are 3-8 and are, of course, not going to make the playoffs. The team has practically spent the season, instead, trying to get Blaine Gabbert some experience. Del Rio has been the coach of the Jags since 2003, has a 68-71 record, and has made the playoffs twice during his tenure. Speculation already begins as to who will replace Del Rio permanently with Bill Cowher's name already coming up.

This, however, is not the biggest piece of news coming out of Jacksonville. Wayne Weaver, owner of the team, has announced he is selling the Jaguars to Shahid Khan. THIS Khan has seemingly tried to buy an NFL team in the past when the Rams where up for sale way back when. To any of you SOCAL people out there, don't give up your hopes that this will be the franchise coming to LA. Khan has apparently stated that he will keep the team in Jacksonville. Of course, that's not set in stone so people of LA should start campaigning for a move anyway.

Big changes are being made in Jacksonville with bigger ones on the way. I guess Jags fans should hope a big move eventually doesn't become one of those changes. It doesn't seem like it will but I would start going to more Jags' games just in case.
