Something known to everyone at Ohio State going into this last weekend was that Urban Meyer was going to be the head coach of their football team. Meyer refused to acknowledge it even though it was practically fact that he was going to get the job. Well, now it is fact. Several sources are now saying that Meyer has accepted the job as the head coach of Ohio State's football team. Meyer actually grew up in the state of Ohio and was actually a coach (not head coach) for Ohio State back in the 1980's. Now he is the head coach of their football team.
A great hire for Ohio State university. Meyer has two national titles to his name and a great name for recruiting and keeping the program going through the impending sanctions from the NCAA. What strikes me is that Urban Meyer had retired just last season and he's already out of retirement. Wonder how those "Health Problems" are doing. Just kidding (a bit). Meyer probably planned to stay out of the game longer but when the head coaching job becomes available for the most prestigious football program in your home state, you take the job.
As for how Meyer will do there, I think he will struggle at first because of the impending sanctions. Eventually, though, the Buckeyes and Meyer will no doubt find themselves in a familiar BCS area.
P.S. As for Meyer cracking down on violations, HA HA HA!!! He couldn't keep his Gators out of jail. How the hell is he supposed to keep the Buckeyes in line?
