Last week, Justin Verlander was crowned the AL Cy Young Award Winner as he was no doubt the best pitcher in the AL. Down the stretch of the season and leading into today, a lot of people had stated that he was good enough for the AL MVP Award with his dominating pitching. It seems that he was. Justin Verlander was named the AL MVP today and quite frankly he deserved it. He carried that Tigers team with his 24-5 record along with a 2.40 ERA and 250 strikeouts. He lead in all three AL Triple Crown categories. He was feared on the mound and the one constant for the Tigers all year long.
Like most winners of the baseball awards, Justin would've like a ring instead. If he keeps that kind of performance going into next year, then his team will have a fair chance again.
