The Return of Sid the Kid

For most of 2011, the NHL has been missing its main star on the ice: Sidney Crosby. Crosby has been out since January earlier this year because of a concussion. It's been so long since we have seen Sid the Kid that some even started to worry that he wouldn't play again. However, Sidney Crosby would come back and did come back.

Sidney Crosby made his NHL return last night as the New York Islanders came into Pittsburgh to face the Penguins. The Penguins captain had returned and all of the CONSOL Energy Center cheered like crazy for Sidney. Sidney had a great return night in all. Just 5:24 into the game, Crosby scored the game's first goal, his first one back. He would later score another goal in the 3rd period along with a couple of assists before that. The Penguins won the game, 5-0, as Sidney Crosby had 2 goals among his 4 points.

What a homecoming for the Kid. Sellout crowd to greet to him and he was a big factor in the win. Crosby's first night back already has him looking better than Alexander Ovechkin. For about 16 minutes on the ice, Crosby did very well. The NHL has its star again.
