2011 UCL Final is Set: Manchester United vs. Barcelona

Taking a break from American sports for a while, the 2010-11 UEFA Champions League (UCL) has been fought out overseas for months now and we finally have only two teams left. First is Barcelona who punched their ticket to the UCL final by defeating Real Madrid in a 2 legged semifinal by an aggregate score of 3-1. A bad showing for Real Madrid in their home stadium cost them any real chance at a UCL Final appearance. They fought Barcelona to a 1-1 draw yesterday. The 2nd team in the Manchester United as they demolished Schalke 04 today, 4-1, and advance on an aggregate score of 6-1. Man U has had a good year so far in the UCL and the English Premier League (EPL) for that matter.

As for who will win, it's a tough one to pick. Barcelona has been a great possession team all season long and have looked like the best team in Europe. Meanwhile, Man U's Wayne Rooney and the other strikers are surely something to fear. Then you have to take into account the fact the Final is going to be played in Wembley Stadium. That's right, LONDON BABY!!! It's sure to be a Man U crowd in attendance.

While this match can go either way, I will pick Barcelona to win it all. I may be a Real Madrid fan and be rooting against Barcelona all the way but I'm not stupid. Barcelona went into Santiago Bernabeu last week and came out a winner. If anyone can win the European Cup in a hostile environment, it is, and will be, Barcelona.
