Bulls and Lakers Get Stunned

More NBA games tonight as the first was game 1 between the Hawks and the Bulls. The Bulls were looking to find that spark they had found with their final game against the Pacers. To say the least, they didn't find it. The Hawks would beat the Bulls in Chicago, 103-95. Atlanta rocked the Magic and now they look to rock the Bulls. Joe Johnson was their top player with 34 points. Derrick Rose, meanwhile, had 24 points and 10 assists but tweaked his ankle at the end of the game. He said he'll be fine but Chicago should be a bit worried.

The second game was game 1 between the Mavericks and the Lakers who haven't played each other in the postseason in 23 years. It looked like it would be the Lakers early on and going into the 2nd half, however, the Mavs never gave up. In fact, they outscored the Lakers, 25-16 in the 4th quarter. Despite a 16 point deficit in the 2nd half, the Mavs beat the Lakers, 96-94. Dirk Nowitzki was the big factor in this game with 28 points and 14 rebounds while Kobe Bryant was the big player for the Lakers with 36 points.

A nice set of games as the Bulls and the Lakers are now down 0-1 in their series'. Be interesting to see the follow up performance of the Hawks and Mavs in their next games.
