One Series Ends as Another Begins

Sunday saw two games in the NBA. One was Game 7 between the Grizzlies and the Thunder to see who will face the Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. Kevin Durant had a poor performance in game 6 and more than made up for it in game 7. Durant scored 39 points with 9 rebounds. Russell Westbrook helped out as well with 14 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds. Meanwhile, Zach Randolph was held to 17 points. Thunder win it, 105-90, and go on to face the Mavericks.

The 2nd game was the start of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls. A great match up of offense vs. defense, Rose vs. the Triple Heat, the Windy City vs. beach front property. It seemed pretty even for the 1st half as there were some errors made by Derrick Rose. The Bulls turned it around for the second half and focused on defending Dwayne Wade and LeBron James. The Bulls outscored the Heat 55-34 in the 2nd half and took game 1, 103-82. Rose once again a key part of the team with 28 points and 6 assists. But Luol Deng was just as key with defense and 21 points along with 7 rebounds.

Not a bad Sunday to watch some basketball. If the Bulls continue that 2nd half performance, they will be in the Finals. As for the Mavericks vs the Thunder, that will be fun to watch. Game 1 of that series is tomorrow in Dallas.

P.S. How are the Lakers and the Celtics not part of the NBA Final Four? I owe some people money.
