Lakers Get Swept Away and Hawks Even Things Up

A wonderful day in the NBA yesterday on mother's day nonetheless. We start of course in Dallas where the Lakers are looking to avoid getting swept by the Mavericks. Kobe Bryant said the other night he thought they could make "The Comeback" happen. He must've been smoking the same thing Alexander Ovechkin was smoking. Jason Terry and his good friend the 3 pointer dominated Sunday's game. Terry shot 9-10 from the 3 point line, tied for the most three's in a playoff game, and scored 32 points. All in all, the Mavs' shot 20-32 from beyond the arc while the Lakers just made 5-24. Mavs destroy the classless Lakers, 122-86, and win the series, 4-0. The Mavericks now go on to the next round and will have home court advantage in the Western Conference Finals.

The 2nd game of the day was the Bulls and the Hawks for game 4 in Atlanta. The Hawks needed to even the series before it went back to Chicago and they managed to just do that. A great night from Josh Smith lead that charge with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 assists. Truly a magnificent performance from Smith. Always a good performance from Derrick Rose with 34 points and 10 assists but his team would come up short. The Hawks win it, 100-88. The series is now tied at 2-2 with the pressure now on the Bulls once more.

A series now tied at 2-2 in the East while one series ends in the West. No 3-peat for LA this time. We can now stop talking about the Lakers.

P.S. What will now happen with the Lakers? Is this the end of Phil Jackson? Is Kobe Bryant too old? Will the team make a move for Dwight Howard? Why am I still talking about the Lakers?
